Improve your horse’s overall health by building muscle and increasing cardiovascular endurance. Horse exercises serve as an important tool not only for your horse’s health but also in gaining proper handling and control of your horse. Exercise also leads to improvement in a horse’s temperament and demeanor.

Follow horse exercise routines with discipline and commitment. Although you may want to push your horse harder when he is scheduled for a show or race, consider the injuries that overtraining can cause. Be particularly attentive to any injuries a horse may sustain during exercise. Decrease or completely stop the routines until the injury has healed.
