house training a puppy

Taking the extra effort to spend more time with your puppy through house training will make the process fast, easy and without too much stress on the dog and on the master. I found that an effective way of house training a puppy is by putting sheets of newspaper on the floor and putting him there when you realize that he has the urge. It might take some time but in due time he will realize that he is expected to do it on sheets of paper. At this stage, you can limit your newspaper to the specific area where you want him to do it. There will be minor mishaps but don’t let that discourage you.
Reinforce his progress by rewarding him every step of the way. Just like children, puppies naturally want to please. That is why spending time with him during this phase is important. He will be looking for approval and you can immediately give it to him. If, unfortunately, he makes a miss, don’t punish him. Your patience will be rewarded in due time.
