Dog allergies are common and can be difficult to diagnose. There are several types of allergies. There is the kind that manifests itself on the skin. A second kind affects the respiratory system. A third kind affects the digestive system.

Dog skin allergies may be caused by parasites, the more common being fleas and ticks. The obvious remedy is to remove the parasites which cannot happen very easily. You can apply medication but should be patient as these parasites keep coming back. Sometimes, what seem like an ordinary allergy can be the result of another illness. It is best to bring your pet to the veterinarian who has the experience to provide an accurate diagnosis.
