Just like humans, dogs should be protected from contracting diseases. Dog health problems can turn up between the pet’s puppy hood and adult hood. These problems can range from the mild to the severe. To simplify, these problems can be an injury, illness, infection or infestation. Dog skin allergies are some of the more common health problems that can affect dogs.

An allergy is an immune system response to food, plants, parasites, pollens, mites or molds. The most common sign that a dog has an allergy is his frequent itching, chewing or biting. This happens more commonly on the tail, the stomach, the insides of hind legs and the paws. Giving your pet relief is important and the best way is to keep him away from products or items that will cause the allergy. Carpeting, draperies and upholstered furniture are collecting grounds for allergens. Have them steamed cleaned often. Look out also for foods that can cause allergy. Preventing him from getting in contact with allergens is really the best thing to do to protect your pet.
