The oldest dog in the world finally died at age 21 or about 147 years. What I noticed in his latest picture was that he had on dark optical glasses to help his cataracts; and a thick sweater. The owner said that he was always wearing dog sweaters because just like old people he tended to feel cold all of the time. Dog sweaters can really be a big help to animals living in cold climate. And they look nice in it, too.

Aside from providing warmth dog sweaters are great fashion statements for pets. They may come in solid colored cable knits or argyle in multi color design. They are also available in novelty designs such as fancy stripes or army uniform. A recent innovation of the sweater is the dog shawl. Its purpose is also to provide warmth to the pet but it is something that is fixed over the neck and hangs over his back. These shawls are just right for weather that is just chilly and not really cold.
