cat window perch

Cats love to perch in areas way up high, on a window sill looking outside while they are quiet, secluded and safe inside. Cats are vigilant and curious by nature. Sitting in high places allows them to view their environment. They like to hear, see, and smell what is going on from a safe distance.

Cats make good use of their upright space and value this as much more than floor space. They may even find their own high perching spots on top of a refrigerator or kitchen cupboards. Spots near a window are especially desirable. So try to provide places for birds to gather near your cat window perch. Cats love to watch the birds fly around. There are many types of cat furniture that accommodates the cat’s need to perch and climb. Cat trees, towers, or condos are greatly loved. Place them near a window if possible.
