Most breed of cats have a fondness on settling in high places or perching. Experts claim that this gives the cat a better observation point. It allows them to survey their territory and become aware of activities of people and other pets in the area. Height then gives a cat a sense of security.

Cat owners therefore make it a point to have cat furniture that serves as cat’s refuge. Cat tree furniture like cat towers were made to give cats this kind of security. Cat’s night vision is superior to humans but their vision during the day is inferior. The dozens of movable vibrissae or whiskers in their body, especially in their face, aid with their navigation and sensation. Cats use a variety of vocalizations and types of body language for communication. It includes meowing, purring, hissing, trilling, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking and grunting.
