Some people say that if you want to teach your children the meaning of responsibility, try giving her a pet like a cat or a puppy. Developing your child’s sense of responsibility can come in different forms or ways. There are times that words of wisdom are not enough for children to fully grasp the essence of the word responsibility. Thus parents come up with unique or common methods to make their child be more responsible in their actions.
Some parents assign tasks like buying groceries, cleaning the house or car and many others. For some parents, giving their children a pet like a cat to take care of is another effective way. With a cat, a child is like rearing her own baby. Besides preparing the cat food, the child has to ensure that the cat is well groomed and its cathouse is always clean, and the cat scratching tower is clearly visible to her pet. Giving your child a cat or a dog will not only show her sense of responsibility. It will also give you an idea of your child’s nurturing skills – which may be a reflection of how you nurture your child too.
